India vs Australia Champions Trophy

India vs Australia Champions Trophy
Today sees India vs Australia in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Champions Trophy, a cricket event that is second only to the Cricket World Cup. The Champions Trophy is held once ever two years; the World Cup is once every four. Talking about their batting attack, Ricky Ponting still holds the reins and leads his team. Mitchell Johnson is also capable of giving a stormy performance as he did against West Indies.
The tournament is an eight-team event. Today, India faces off against defending champions Australia. Cricket is a huge sport for millions worldwide - popular in many of the old British colonies such as India, Australia and New Zealand. It's an arcane, confusing game to the American observer. I had the benefit of watching a bit over in England last year accompanied by some knowledgeable explanation. It's actually not that complicated once you learn the basics. But these cricket games can be very long - sometimes taking days to complete.
Talking about the Australian defense, they have done good at the tournament so far. They started off with a win against West Indies and are high on confidence level. Ricky Ponting is in a good form while Ishant Sharma isn’t in such a defendable form against him. Bowling wise, Mendis and Ajmal are in good form too and would be supported by the batsmen. After the loss to Pakistan, Indian team is in desperate need for a win.

Ind Vs Pak Live Streaming

Ind Vs Pak Live Streaming
India vs Pakistan live streaming Ind vs Pak live on Willow tv. Indian and Pakistani cricket teams are again slugging it out on the cricket pitch in Champions Trophy in South Africa. For them cricket is simply not a game to win and lose, here they come as enemies and cricket pitches are warfields for both the teams. The two teams take it as war and do every bit to ensure that they are not to face the ignominy of losing a war. The pressure from around one and half billion people from both the countries is always very high on both teams to handle.
They have to win the match at any cost to keep the honor of their nations. And whenever they lose they may be sure that their effigies will be burnt on Indian or Pakistani towns and villages by their own people who praised them and made them demigods. Over-zealous supporters even burn effigies of a losing team's players or even of individual players that had simply performed less than well. A successful team and successful players could expect to be given hero status for months after the victory. Thus both the teams are under tremendous pressure to perform well and win which can make for a very exciting game. After the 1999 Kargil Conflict, much of the hatred transformed into a peaceful rivalry between the teams. They played each other in Australia in the 1999–2000 Triangular Series.
The two teams met in the Super Sixes of the 1999 Cricket World Cup, where India won against Pakistan but lost against Australia and New Zealand. Pakistan went on to face Australia in the finals. In the 2003 Cricket World Cup, they again met each other in the Group league match where India achieved a memorable victory and later went on to appear in the finals, but lost to Australia. Then, in the 2003–2004 season, India completed a tour of Pakistan in which there were rare scenes of Indian and Pakistani supporters in unison, followed in early 2005 by a reciprocal tour by Pakistan in India to complete 3 Tests and 6 ODIs.

Durham Fair

Durham Fair
Crowds took advantage of the gorgeous fall weather yesterday to attend the opening day of the 90th Durham Fair. With many local schools running on a half-day schedule, midday was bustling with activity as kids took advantage of the unlimited ride wristbands. The wristbands are a Friday afternoon favorite, allowing unlimited rides for the purchaser until 6 p.m. Richard Cote, of Middletown, was there with his children Austin and Sydney and despite being burdened by a huge fish that Austin won, was enthusiastic.
“There are a lot a families here having a great time,” Cote said as Sydney exclaimed, “We only have 20 minutes left, let’s go.” People come to the fair for different reasons and being the largest volunteer agricultural fair in the country, the Durham Fair has something for everyone. There’s enough music, food and fun to go around. Some go for the crafts, while others gathered for the newly added truck and SUV pull. Many people came for the food — from fried dough to apple fritters and blooming onions. “Oh, the food is my favorite, the souvlaki (a Greek specialty),” Josephine Ameleto said.
There are different events scheduled throughout the weekend, and daily schedules are available at numerous information booths on the grounds. Children were delighted with the many animals, several of the children only weeks old. As fair goers headed up the big hill, they were greeted by a brief history of the fair, dating back to 1916. As reported in the Penny Press, the precursor to The Middletown Press, the 1st Durham Fair was kicked off on Oct. 4, 1916 with a parade. The parade was eventually discontinued in 1925 due to traffic concerns, something modern day fair-goers can appreciate.

Felicia Lee

Felicia Lee
31-year-old Felicia Tang Lee was killed in Monrovia by “The Sexiest Bachelor in America” 2000 contestant Brian Lee Randone on Friday, Sept. 11, 2009. Felicia Lee, a soft-core porn star, actress and model also used pseudonym “Felicia Tang.” 45-year-old Brian Lee Randone who is a resident of Monrovia and Felicia Tang Lee’s boy friend, is reported to torture and murdered the porn star, according to the police authorities. Brian Lee is known as a self-styled or self-proclaimed preacher. He killed Felicia at Monrovia apartment (500 block of West Duarte Road).
The Sheriff’s spokesman Shiara Davila stated that Brian Lee Randone has been charged on account of torture and murder of a former porn star actress Felicia Tang Lee, whose dead body was discovered a week ago. Los Angeles Country district attorney’s office confirmed that the woman seemed to have been severely beaten up. Clear cut evidence of multiple injuries sustained in the 24 hours before her death could never be overruled. The investigations were carried out and the detectives are reported pursuing the motive behind the brutal killing as yet.
A Moody Bible Institute (Chicago) graduate did not have any criminal record prior to this fatal crime (as per Orange or San Bernardino counties court entries), was held on against a $2 million bail. So far it has not been confirmed how old Brian and Felicia relationship actually was. However some believe that the couple had a pool-side meeting as their first, in Las Vegas few months ago. Poor Felicia an October 22, 1977 born, appeared in few Sketchers shoes ads, modeled for Playboy magazine photo shoots and participated in Strip Poker International as well. Academically, she had a BS in Business Administration. Action-packed movies such as “Rush Hour 2” and “The Fast and the Furious” are also on her credits as an actress.

Susan Denise Atkins

Susan Denise Atkins
Susan Denise Atkins, convicted murderer who was a member of the “Manson family”, died at the age of 61 at a Chowchilla, California prison on Thursday. Originally given the death penalty, her sentence was later commuted to life in prison by the California Supreme Court. Atkins, known within the Manson family as Sadie Mae Glutz, spent the last forty years behind bars for her participation in eight killings, including the actress Sharon Tate and LaBianca murders. She was the longest-incarcerated female inmate in the California penal system.
In 1977 Atkins published her autobiography, Child of Satan, Child of God. Ten years later she exchanged wedding vows in prison with lawyer James W. Whitehouse, 15 years her junior. He unsuccessfully represented her at her 2000, 2005 and 2009 parole hearings. In 2008 it was revealed that Atkins had terminal brain cancer. Her husband filed a compassionate release request but it was denied. Her last failed parole hearing was on September 2, 2009. She died on September 24, 2009 at the Central California Women’s facility in Chowchilla. Besides her husband, she is survived by a 41-year-old son Zezozose Zadfrack Glutz, who was adopted by another family after she was sentenced to life in prison when the child was a year old.

Mitrice Richardson

Mitrice Richardson
Mitrice Richardson just another missing black woman She is a 24 year old black woman who was arrested last week at a Malibu restaurant when she did not have enough money to pay her bill. The police searched her car and found a small amount of marijuana. The car was impounded and she was taken to the police station. She was released at about 1a.m. and she reportedly had no money on her. "In an interview, her father, Michael Richardson, questioned the Sheriff's Department's decision to release her without knowing for certain whether she was intoxicated or had arranged for transportation. "They allowed her to walk out of that facility and down that road in the pitch black night," he said. "That's not right. Now, I just want to find my child."
Her parents along with their lawyer appeared on the Today Show. I commend the Today Show for bringing attention to this case. I can not help but think of the amount of media that the Annie Le case received. She was the Yale medical student who was seen entering a lab at the university and not seen leaving it. The police reportedly worked on this story by their own account 24/7 and they found a suspect. This girl was allowed to walk out into the night unescorted. They had her car so they knew she had no means of transportation. Her lawyer suggested if her name had been Lohan or Spears she would have received a ride home. Lauer asked her mother whether Letrice was "street savvy." Her mother said no she was not; she actually had lived a sheltered life full of positive things.
I am going to give Lauer the benefit of the doubt. The term street savvy indicates knowledge of the street. It is someone who knows all the angles and has the ability to make something out of nothing. Middle class and upper middle class black children are really no more street smart than their white counterparts. Supposedly the LA police department is widening their search. My hope is that Mitrice is found but we should have heard about her case before today. The question is why didn't we?

Frank lloyd Wright s House Fallingwater

Frank lloyd Wright s House Fallingwater
MILL RUN, Pennsylvania – Fans of Frank Lloyd Wright's house Fallingwater have long been able to visit the architect's modernist masterpiece as a museum, but soon they can enjoy the house almost as if they were living in it. In the coming months, curators of the house built amid a waterfall in the leafy Laurel Highlands of western Pennsylvania will offer a new program, Insight Onsite at Fallingwater, where visitors will spend one full day and two evenings at the residence, enjoying the house as it was intended.
While regular visitors are whisked through the iconic house in guided tours lasting about one hour, those at the Insight Onsite program can lounge about reading, engage in interesting conversations on the terraces, have a cocktail by the fireplace, write a personal letter at a desk and enjoy a lively dinner party. Regular visitors pay $18 admission but the more intimate experience comes with a more exclusive price tag -- $1,195. "It's a different experience of the house when you are here by yourself than when you are with a group of people," Fallingwater Director Lynda Waggoner said in her office, nestled at the back of the house.
Up to eight people will arrive in the evening and be given an in-depth tour and then sleep overnight, not in Fallingwater itself but in a newer four-bedroom home built on the grounds for the accountant of the family which owned the property. The next morning visitors have the morning to lounge around the house and grounds, have lunch on the terraces, have more time alone to do as you wish and then have a dinner party at the house with curators and a guest, perhaps a leading figure in the architecture community. Waggoner said the program would appeal to those with a passion for architecture.

IPhone MMS

IPhone MMS
All the hand wringing over the Friday launch of MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) on AT&T iPhones may be misplaced for a service that hasn't been a huge success on most other phones. Apple let down iPhone watchers and owners when it announced in June that iPhone 3.0 software would support MMS but implied that AT&T would not yet allow it. The service launch was delayed several times, with exclusive carrier AT&T citing the need to make sure its network was ready. The feature will finally become generally available on AT&T iPhones on Friday when iTunes delivers a carrier settings update for the wildly popular phone. The carrier has said it expects "record volumes" of MMS traffic after the launch. MMS lets people send pictures, audio recordings, video clips or contact information along with an SMS (Short Message Service) message.
However, the service in question has been out for years on other handsets and hasn't exactly taken the mobile world by storm. In 2008, MMS made up just 2.5 percent of all messages sent from phones worldwide, meaning about 97.5 percent were SMS text messages, according to ABI Research. ABI expects the MMS share to grow to just 4.5 percent by 2014. Given the amount of data that iPhone fans are already using on AT&T's network, for Web browsing, video, e-mail and social networking, it would take quite a popularity breakthrough for MMS to drag down the infrastructure through sheer traffic, analysts said. However, the carrier's fears in one respect may have been justified, said ABI analyst Dan Shey.
Several factors have dampened the popularity of MMS, according to analysts and industry observers. A big one is that the messages still don't always get through. "Interoperability between carriers has always been an issue, and that's why MMS usage hasn't really taken off," Shey said. Delivering multimedia content from one phone and one network to another can be complicated with photos and gets even more involved when it comes to video, with large file sizes and multiple available formats, he said. What's attached in an MMS, 98 percent of the time, is just a picture, he said.

Children s Tylenol Recall

Children s Tylenol Recall
Blister package design and information on the packages and bottles of all lots and flavors of Tylenol Meltaways and SoftChews in 80 and 160mg may be confusing and lead to improper dosing, possibly even overdosing. Read more to find out if any Tylenol you have could be affected by this recall. McNeil Consumer & Specialty Pharmaceuticals is voluntarily recalling all lots and all flavors of Children’s TYLENOL® Meltaways 80 mg packaged in bottles and blisters, Children’s TYLENOL®SoftChews 80mg packaged in blisters, and Junior TYLENOL® Meltaways 160mg packaged in blisters. The blister package design, as well as the information on the blister package and on the blister and bottle cartons may be confusing and could lead to improper dosing, including over-dosing.
Some Children’s TYLENOL® Meltaways 80mg and Children’s TYLENOL® SoftChews 80mg are packaged in a blister package designed to be convenient for parents who need dosing flexibility depending on the age or weight of the child. The package design includes blister cavities that contain one tablet while other cavities contain two tablets. Concerns have been raised that labeling on the carton and on the back of the two-tablet cavities may erroneously suggest to the consumer that two tablets provide a total of 80mg of the active ingredient, acetaminophen, when two tablets would actually provide 160mg of acetaminophen.
In addition, some Children’s TYLENOL® Meltaways 80mg are packaged in a bottle. The bottle is packaged in a carton. Concerns have been raised that the information on the front panel of the carton for Children’s TYLENOL® Meltaways 80mg may be confusing to some consumers in determining the proper dosage. The carton labeling says that each dose provides 80 mg of acetaminophen. Consumers should know that each tablet of Children’s TYLENOL Meltaways contains 80 mg of acetaminophen.

Obama UN speech

Obama UN speech
Tune in here at about 10 am for a live feed of President Obama's address to the General Assembly, courtesy of the White House. You can watch all the action throughout the day via the UN live webcast. N.B. that President Obama will be immediately followed by..."H.E. Colonel Muammar Al-Qadhafi" Full schedule after the jump. As the figures indicate, Barack Obama is highly likely to receive a warm reception when he addresses the United Nations General Assembly today, whereas his predecessor in the White House was greeted with undisguised contempt and stony silence.
The latest Pew Global Attitudes Survey of international confidence in Obama’s leadership on foreign affairs shows strikingly high approval levels for the president in many parts of the world – 94 percent in Kenya, 93 percent in Germany, 88 percent in Canada and Nigeria, 77 percent in India, 76 percent in Brazil, 71 percent in Indonesia, and 62 percent in China for example. The Pew survey of 21 countries reveals an average level of 71 percent support for President Obama, compared to just 17 percent for George W. Bush in 2008.
It is not hard to see why a standing ovation awaits the president at Turtle Bay. Obama’s popularity at the UN boils down essentially to his willingness to downplay American global power. He is the first American president who has made an art form out of apologizing for the United States, which he has done on numerous occasions on foreign soil, from Strasbourg to Cairo. The Obama mantra appears to be – ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do to atone for your country. This is a message that goes down very well in a world that is still seething with anti-Americanism.

See You at the Pole 2009

See You at the Pole 2009
This morning students will join in prayer for “See You at the Pole” 2009. Students will meet in “See You at the Pole” across U.S. school to join in a moment of prayer before Wednesday’s school day. The event is the 20th anniversary of the event started in Texas. As many as 2 million students are reportedly expected to participate. National Network of Youth Ministries is behind today’s event. Paul Fleischmann, president of the group,
says the following about See You at the Pole: “For 20 years, we have seen this day serve as a springboard for unity for teenagers on their secondary and college campuses. “Challenging youth to take leadership on their campus is always a good idea. It’s important to remember that though it has a 20-year history, it’s fresh to today’s students.”
Baptist Joint Committee Executive Director J. Brent Walker, writing Monday at the Washington Post's On Faith, suggests guidelines for conducting programs. They include a warning that: "students should avoid being lulled into a civil religion trap. Joining hands in a circle facing the quintessential symbol of our country, the American Flag, makes this a real risk. Yes, we are told in Scriptures to pray for our leaders. Students should understand they are not praying to Caesar, but to God." Jamison Foser at Media Matters criticizes Walker's suggestions, saying that SYATP undermines the spirit, if not the letter, of church-state separation.

Seydi Burciaga

Seydi Burciaga
Seydi Burciaga was trapped in her car in suburban Atlanta, Ga., as floodwaters swirled and rose. "My car is turning. Now the wheels is getting up, and I'm going to drown," Burciaga cried, pleading for help. Burciaga's frantic pleas came in a 911 call early Monday morning and were on a tape released by authorities Wednesday. It was one one of hundreds of calls that came into Gwinette County as record flooding swept across the Southeast, killing at least 10 people before waters began to recede Wednesday.
Gov. Sonny Perdue asked President Obama to declare a state of emergency in Georgia, where officials estimated flooding had caused at least $250 million in damage. A fire rescue team managed to locate Burciaga by 5:09 a.m. Monday morning, authorities reported. Police arrived four minutes later. Burciaga, alone in the Nissan Quest, was still on the phone with the 911 operator. The entire roadway was submerged in nearly six feet of water. "Listen to me. You're not going to drown. Roll down your windows, if you're able to, and get out of your vehicle," the 911 dispatcher told the 39-year-old Mexican immigrant.
"I'm in the back of my car. I don't know if I can break it," said Burciaga, the mother of a 9-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter. "Ma'am, if you can break it, break it. Do whatever you can to get out of your vehicle....We're going to save your life." But the roiling waters continued to swell. "It's taking me down now," Burciaga says, crying. "OK, listen, you're not going to drown. We're going to be there for you," the dispatcher said. "Just stay with me, Okay?" "Okay, Okay," Burciaga says. Then she shrieks, "Oh my God!" Her cell phone went dead at 5:16 a.m. Rescue crews tried in vain to find her in the murky water. Her body, dressed in blue jeans, a green shirt and tennis shoes was found about an hour later.

Mckinsey Phillips

Mckinsey Phillips
John Phillips Mamas and Papas Mckinsey Phillips Michelle Phillips. Mackenzie Phillips has made sensational revelation. She says that her father forcibly had sex with her the day before she was set to marry her first husband. John Phillips was a singer and longed to have success in the music industry and traveled to New York to find a record contract in the early 1960s. His first band, The Journeymen, was a folk trio. He developed his craft in Greenwich Village, during the American folk music revival, and met his future The Mamas & the Papas bandmates Denny Doherty and Cass Elliot there. Lyrics of their song "Creeque Alley" describe this period.
While touring California with The Journeymen, he met his future second wife, the teenage Michelle Gilliam. Their affair finally forced the dissolution of his first marriage. Phillips was married to Michelle Phillips from 1962 to 1970. They had one child together, Chynna Phillips, vocalist of the 1990s' pop trio Wilson Phillips. Phillips was the primary songwriter and musical arranger of The Mamas & the Papas. Early in the band's history, John and Michelle were responsible for writing most of the band's songs.
John would often come up with a melody and some lyrics and Michelle would help him complete the lyrical portion of the song. After being signed to Dunhill Records, they had several Billboard Top Ten hits during the group's short lifetime, including "California Dreamin'", "Monday, Monday", "I Saw Her Again", "Creeque Alley", and "12:30 (Young Girls Are Coming to the Canyon)". John Phillips also wrote "San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Flowers in Your Hair)", the 1967 Scott McKenzie hit that was to become the Summer of Love anthem. Phillips also wrote the oft-covered "Me and My Uncle", which was the song performed more times than any other over 30 years of Grateful Dead concerts.

Khristine Eroshevich

Khristine Eroshevich
Anna Nicole Smith's psychiatrist Khristine Eroshevich prescribed the equivalent of "pharmaceutical suicide" in the days after the death of her son, according to court records obtained by the Los Angeles Times. On at least three occasions, pharmacists refused to fill drug orders prescribed by Eroshevich and Smith's internist Sandeep Kapoor, who are each facing several counts of illegally prescribing controlled substances to the late model and obtaining opiate prescriptions by fraud.
Five days after the death of Smith's son, Daniel, (and eight days after Smith gave birth to her daughter Dannielynn), Eroshevich tried to prescribe two sedatives, 300 tablets of methadone, a muscle relaxer, an anti-inflammatory drug and 4 bottles of a painkiller called "hospital heroin." "They are going to kill her with this," one of the pharmacists told himself at the time. He then called the Kapoor and told him the drugs amounted to "pharmaceutical suicide." Smith died of a prescription drug overdose five months later.
The day after Daniel's death, Eroshevich also allegedly asked a pharmacist for chloral hydrate to help Smith sleep, according to the documents. "I wouldn't give her chloral hydrate unless you want your picture on the front page of the National Enquirer," the pharmacist reportedly told her, but did fill the prescription for what is considered an out-of-date treatment for insomnia, according to the Times. The documents also revealed what the Times politely calls "lack of professionalism" by the two doctors. To whit: Photos of Smith and Eroshevich naked and embracing in a hot tub in the two months before Smith's death, and a video showing Smith "kissing and nuzzling" a shirtless Kapoor.

Port Authority Bus Terminal

Port Authority Bus Terminal
The south wing of the Port Authority Bus Terminal, the nation’s largest and busiest bus depot, was evacuated on Tuesday morning after a suspicious package was found near the subway platforms that serve the A, C and E subway lines, the authorities said. The building was reopened at 10:20 a.m., when the the package was determined to be “a couple of stereo speakers bundled together,” said John Kelly, a spokesman for the Port Authority. Thespeakers appeared to have been forgotten by a traveler.
The closing of part of the building caused a disruption for commuters in Midtown Manhattan’s morning rush. Arriving buses were allowed into the terminal’s south wing, though passengers getting off those buses were diverted toward the north wing of the terminal to exit on the street. Outgoing travelers were inconvenienced the most, as many were turned away. People waited near the terminal despite repeated pleas from the authorities that they exit for their safety. Manycould be seen grumbling about the delays.
“Please step back,” an official said through a hand-held loudspeaker. “Due to your own safety and police activity, please be patientand exit the building.” Still, the crowd lingered, looking more concerned about the delays than a possible risk of a bomb or some terrorist activity. “It’s affecting us a great deal,” said Jennifer Eodumegwuhu, who was traveling to work in New Jersey from her home in Brooklyn. “They aren’t telling us anything. You don’t know whatto do, where to go.”

Flooding in atlanta

Flooding in atlanta
Have you ever seen what a flooded amusement park looks like? It's quite a sight, and the web is getting a look as news of Atlanta, Georgia's Six Flags park being under water buzzes around the web. Videos have been posted to YouTube, Tweets are rolling in, and "six flags under water" is currently number one on Google's Hot Trends list. Here's a clip: "Flooding in atlanta," "six flags atlanta flood" and "ga flooding" are all also currently on the Google Hot Trends list.
While the damage to an amusement park may not be as significant as the damage to the homes of families on a human level, the scene certainly emphasizes the destruction that is really going on down in the Atlanta area. When you can see roller coasters sticking out of the water, it puts the flood into some perspective, that's for sure.

Colts vs Dolphins Score

Colts vs Dolphins Score
The Colts vs Dolphins score looks fairly normal, given that the Colts vs Dolphins score favored the Colts, as expected. Everything else other than the Colts vs Dolphins score is the opposite of normal - and that made the Colts vs Dolphins outcome look impossible. The Colts only had theColts vs. Dolphins Score Defies All Logic with Colts Win ball for a quarter of game time, were out-gained significantly on the run, and could not stop the Dolphins' Wildcat formation. All the stats signal that the Dolphins should have destroyed the Colts. Instead, the Colts vs Dolphins score reads 27-23 Colts, in a score that could kill the Dolphins' season before it begins.
The Colts vs Dolphins game was a showcase for the Dolphins ball control, and not so much Peyton Manning - because he barely got the football. For the entire game, the Colts controlled the football for less than 15 minutes. However, there were other reasons that the Colts only had the ball for that long - namely because Manning managed to score pretty quickly on a few drives. The Dolphins controlled the ball for about 45 minutes, using the Wildcat and the run to wear the Colts' defense out. Yet the score favored the Colts in the end anyway. The Dolphins couldn't score touchdowns on all of those very long drives, and Manning only needed a few minutes to score touchdowns.
Manning pretty much threw 300 yards in one quarter to win the game. Since the Colts' running game didn't work, Manning and his receivers were the whole offense. But when Manning finally got the ball, he struck quick, and won the game with a touchdown drive that went 80 yards in about 30 seconds. For all of the Dolphins' fancy play calling, they settled for field goals when they needed touchdowns. The score and stats revealed how effective the Wildcat is in controlling the ball and using the run. However, the system is very limited in getting big plays, which kept the Dolphins from victory.

Peanut Butter And Jelly

Peanut Butter And Jelly
Peanut butter and jelly presented in stripes in the same jar. Such is the unappetizing quality of this splintery, cheap stuff that a jar of it sat untouched in the kitchen of The Onion’s Chicago office for well over a year before someone finally disposed of it. And our kitchen is the kind of place where ravenous, invisible hordes normally devour any food left unattended, so rapidly that we theorize they could beat out a school of Amazonian piranhas in a skeletonize-a-cow speed contest. What did we learn from this experience? Mostly that while peanut butter goes well with a lot of things, those things don’t necessarily belong in the same jar with it, at least not for people above age 8 or so.
Because face it, peanut butter is essentially for kids. It’s an efficient protein-delivery system, but it’s also a samey brown paste loaded with fat and calories, even in its “natural” form. (Processed commercial peanut butters generally add a lot more sugar or corn syrup.) It’s tasty, but simplistic, lazy comfort food, the kind of thing we treasure when older largely because it’s so easy to work with that for a lot of us, peanut-butter-and-whatever sandwiches were the first thing we learned how to make on our own. Peanut butter tastes like proud childhood independence and freedom. But even in this age of gourmetified, high-end everything, is there a place on the market for fancy peanut butters aimed at adults?
Apparently so. When a friend of mine informed the world (via Twitter, chosen platform of such benignly minor revelations) that he was trying a chocolate-chip-cookie-dough-flavored peanut-butter sandwich, I had to ask whether it was a commercial product, or if he’d just run out of bananas and tossed a hunk of Pillsbury’s best on his toast instead. He pointed me to the website of P.B.Loco, a Minneapolis-based company making fancy flavored PB concoctions, and advertising them in a low-key, tongue-in-cheek way.

College football scores 2009

College football scores for 2009
College football scores for 2009 week 3 featured a lot of tests at the top. College football scores in 2009 haven't been safe for top teams, and yesterday's college football scores were noCollege Football Scores for 2009 Have More Surprises in Week 3 different. At least one powerhouse fell, while an upstart was destroyed, and the top two college football teams were severely tested. The 2009 college football scores are beginning to look a little more topsy-turvy, as the early part of the season ends and conference play nears.
The college football scores for 2009 were highlight by some upsets in the first two weeks. For week 3, the trend continued, and was led this time by USC's shocking loss at Washington. The Trojans went from being a solid third in the polls to being nearly out of the BCS race altogether, by losing to a team that went 0-12 last year. But the 16-13 score in favor of the Huskies signaled that this isn't last year's Washington. 2009 college football scores this week also had scares in Florida and Texas. The Gators were tested more than they ever expected from the Tennessee Volunteers, but Florida was still in control through much of the game. Nevertheless, the 23-13 score was the Gators first true test against real competition this season.
The college football scores for 2008 were highlighted by the classic Texas-Texas Tech showdown last season. For 2009, the Red Raiders didn't have the same magic, but they didn't go down easily against the Longhorns. Texas and Texas Tech took a while to light up the scoreboard, but when they did, the Longhorns pulled away to a 34-24 win. The team that pulled off the first shocking 2009 college football score, BYU, was on the losing end of a surprise this week. Florida State, after losing to Miami and nearly getting shocked by Jacksonville State, utterly destroyed BYU on the road, 54-28. Now all talk of BYU being a possible BCS title contender is gone - and with Utah's loss to Oregon, Boise State and TCU are the last mid-major BCS threats left.

Nacho Figueras

Nacho Figueras
Fashion Week in New York City, filled with beautiful clothes and beautiful people . . . and among them, one person stands out. "I met Nacho!" one woman shouted. Meet Argentine heartthrob Ignacio Figueras, known simply as Nacho. "Nacho's a typical nickname for Ignacio," he said. "And it's a memorable name," said CBS News correspondent Serena Altschul. "I guess, yes. Everyone always called me Nacho. Only my third grade teacher called me Ignacio."
If his name isn't familiar, chances are you've seen his face. It's the face of Ralph Lauren, famous for its Polo brand. His sultry ads are seen around the globe. With his rugged good looks, it's easy to see why he was chosen as the poster-child for the Polo brand. But there's another reason: In a stroke of marketing luck, 32-year-old Nacho just happens to be the sport's biggest star. Longtime friend and former polo player David Walentas said it's a perfect match. "He's been good for the sport of polo, and polo's been for Nacho," said Walentas.
Nacho grew up outside Buenos Aires - considered the polo capital of the world - and started playing when he was nine years old, on a farm with friends. "I come from a middle class family," he said. "I had one horse that I took care of myself." And despite his modest upbringing, in a country where owning a horse is common, Nacho dreamed of one day becoming a polo star. "I had this polo shirt that my uncle gave me for my birthday. I remember it was a white- and green-striped polo shirt, with a little polo player on it. And I thought it was so cool. It was in Argentina, we didn't have that many. They were expensive. So that was, like, my treasured shirt that I had.

Bill Geist

Bill Geist
A self-described "cat man," Bill Geist goes to the dogs with his new pet, Daphne. I'd always been a cat person - Timmy, Frosty, Burt, Katy, Peaches, Randy, Scooter, just to name a few. But my wife Jody and I flipped over our daughter's new dog, Barkley, and decided we just had to have one, too. Our first … and therein lies a tale. We spent weeks scouring the Internet ("Ooh boy, that's an ugly dog!"). Some were too big (like a bullmastiff - 175 pounds!).
But look at that face! This one seemed just right. Except the dog was in a rescue shelter in Easley, S.C., and we were in an apartment in New York City. But they offered free delivery! They instructed us to meet them at the Vince Lombardi Service Area on the New Jersey Turnpike, which sounded a little … shady. Jody could almost hear the "Sopranos" theme song playing as she waited for the deal to go down on a rainy dog day afternoon. But everything was on the up-and-up. Debra from the shelter arrived after a 15-hour drive, her delivery wrapped with ribbons and bows.
Bill gushed: "You're cuter than your picture." She doesn't look like our other kids. Now, I knew raising a puppy would be a challenge, but I had no idea. You practically have to quit your job. The struggle for a name was only the beginning. Mongo? "Awful!" Banjo? "No, terrible." Cher? "Awful." Loco? "Loco is pretty good." "Lisa Marie appeal to you?" "Never." A bark rang out. "She doesn't like it, either." And so she became Daphne. "She was this long-legged, elegant dog," Jody said. "Daphne, just because Daphne's so elegant." Your whole life's turned upside down. The dog is fighting with the cat who's been hiding in the closet for four weeks; the dog is barking at all hours, and there are guys hauling our carpets out to be cleaned.

Manchester United vs Manchester City Live

Manchester United vs Manchester City Live
Watch Man Utd take on Man City live in the first Manchester derby of the new season. After last weekends furore surrounding Manchester City the heat doesn’t cool down this week as they take on Manchester United in a match not be missed. After Sir Alex described Man City as being “a small club with a small mentality” earlier in the year he certainly can’t afford for his Man Utd team to lose or he may never be able to live down that statement.
If that wasn’t enough to crank up the heat ahead of this meeting Man City manager Mark Hughes has said this week that Man Utd are a weakened side, so he himself will need a result to back up his own statement. With all the attacking forces that Man City have invested in this summer amazingly they could be light up front with Robinho out injured, Adebayor suspended while Santa Cruz and Carlos Tevez are serious doubts with knee injuries.
There are less worries for Man Utd with Paul Scholes suspended and Rio Ferdinand being their only concern with a groin injury but he could make the starting line up. It has been a long time since Manchester City have really got up the noses of Manchester United but this season City have a real belief that they could push United all the way. A win for Mark Hughes’ side at Old Trafford this weekend will really make their city rivals stand up and take notice and could give a good indication of where they are going to finish up this season.

Brother Speed Motorcyle Club

Brother Speed Motorcyle Club
On Sept 18, two dozen Brother Speed Motorcyle Club members were involved in an accident on I5 according to the Oregon Police. The interstate was closed for hours because of this. According to eye witnesses, the bikers were behind the cars and because of the traffic the cars and bikes tried to slow down. But instead the bikers collided with the cars and from then on the Domino effect took hold. Because of the collision many bikes were scattered on the pavement.
Two bikers were in critical condition because of this incident and had to be flown to hospitals in Portland by helicopter. Finally the interstate could be reopened at 6 PM in the evening following the chaos. Do you know anything about this? Were you on the interstate at that time or knew somebody who was? Oregon State Police: One lane northbound is now open following a multi-vehicle crash involving 26 motorcycles and two passenger vehicles northbound Interstate 5 near the Baldock Rest Area south of Wilsonville. Pirate Translator

Pirate Translator
Admit it: You really don't know how to talk like a pirate. But you need to know, because today is "talk like a pirate day," and perhaps you're donning your pirate suit as I type and looking for some last-minute pirate phrases before heading out to a pirate party with your mates. How do I know that? Just look at Google Trends. Searches for "talk like a pirate day," "pirate translator" and "pirate phrases" are all in the top 30 right now.
This Web site offers some catch phrases that might help you talk like a pirate today. Let's try a few out that might come in handy at that party today. Pirate translations in bold. Why do they point these things at me when I ask if I can take their picture? These are from the Tall Ship festival pirate camp. I can't believe I passed up on an offer to be a Pirates Wench that day but it was 100 degrees out and I couldn't see dressing up in heavy historical costumes. Still, a Pirate Wench, sigh. What a thing to put on my resume.

Cooper Young Festival

Cooper Young Festival
A groundbreaking event at the Mid-South Fairgrounds, some highly anticipated chicken sandwiches, and even a band of Iguanas highlight the 22nd annual Cooper-Young Festival taking place Saturday. Organizers said despite the bad economy, the festival must go on. “It’s been weird,” said Cooper-Young Business Association Director Tamara Walker, referring to the process of signing this year’s event sponsors. “I always start in December and I usually have it done in May, and I did this year too.”
Then twists in the economy forced some sponsors to reconsider and others to wait until later than usual to sign on. “So now I’ve done it all twice,” Walker said. The new Chick-fil-A restaurant on Union Avenue opened just in time to provide food for the festival as well as a kick-off party at the restaurant dish last week. Walker is also excited about the involvement of the Salvation Army, which set the groundbreaking for its new Kroc Center, a community recreation center at the Mid-South Fairgrounds, to coincide with the festival.
“They wanted to put their whole groundbreaking around the Cooper-Young Festival, because they are still raising money,” Walker said. “They still have about $2 million left to raise.” Mary Long and Jonathan Postal, who reside in the Cooper-Young neighborhood, created the original art poster. The pair was selected by CYBA board member Stephen Crump. Long and Postal took photographs of various neighborhood scenes and painted them into a 1920s-style wooden window frame, which are common in Cooper-Young homes.

Mudhoney Movie

Mudhoney Movie
Mudhoney Movie: concerns the mental decay of a jealous depression-era sharecropper, and its effects on his family and town. Some good acting by unknowns and lesser names enhance a script which is the strongest of three produced and directed by Russ Meyer since exiting the strict nudie sphere. Sexploitation elements exist, but in such a way that near-complete removal would still yield an acceptable and absorbing entry in the general adult market. When California – bound J oh n Furlong arrives at Missouri farm of Stu Lancaster after a prison stretch, his employment cues the declining sanity of Hal Hopper, wife-beating husband of Lancaster’s niece Antoinette Cristiani. Latter projects very well as the loyal wife who takes all the punishment even after falling in love with Furlong in a tastefully-handled affair.
Hopper is very good as the cheating, frustrated hubby who is variously taunting, remorseful, scheming, brutal and submissive. Top honors go to Lancaster, the stolid landowner who wills his property to Furlong instead of Hopper, knowledge of which sends the latter into a final crazed spree of murder and barn-burning. Interjected at intervals are Lorna Maitland and Rena Horten of the local bordello shanty run by toothless Princess Livingston, whose cackles of derision wear thin after a time. The babes are lookers, natch, and Miss Horten does well in a role which calls for her to play a deaf-mute.
Frank Bolger is the film’s Elmer Gantry, whose fire and brimstone talk is tinged with curiosity until Hopper corrupts him via a trip to the sporting pad. He helps Hopper turn the town against latter’s wife and lover until his ow1~ wife, Lee Ballard, is strangled by the Unglued husband, then becoming the fanatic leader of a lynch mob over which sheriff Nick Wolcuff has no control. The unusual climax finds a town full of embarrassed lynchers afraid to look at one another, Miss Horten shocked into speech, and an up-heat note for the young couple. Raymond Friday Locke and William E. Sprague scripted a Locke story which has some strong dramatic angles and salty dialog which is not out of place.

Talk Like a Pirate Day

Talk Like a Pirate Day
It's rolled around once again, like a stray cannonball on the deck of a sailing ship. September 19 is the annual Talk Like a Pirate Day, for no particular reason whatsoever. Thank John "OI' Chumbucket" Bauer and Mark "Cap'n Slappy" Summers, the two ne'er do-wells with pirattitude for starting the tradition, and writer Dave Barry for popularizing it seven years ago. Bauer and Summers have two books available from publishers and three others they've self-published, including the children's book "A Li'l Pirate's A-B-Seas."
Not all pirate talk is fit for kids. Suggested pirate pick-up lines include "Have ya ever met a man with a real yardarm?" and "How'd you like to scrape the barnacles off of me rudder?" As for "booty" and "treasure chest"... well keep those double meanings to yourself, you swarthy knave. Los Angeles is home to a bounty of pirate-related events today, including sexy pirate talk and a costume contest at the R Bar in Koreatown, a pirate-themed murder mystery geocache hunt, and a weekend's worth of pirates and steampunk at the Queen Mary. Shiver me timbers.
The humorous lampoon rapidly sailed' viral, an' eventually th' spaghetti an' swashbuckler themed religion co-adapted th' separately created International Talk Like a Buccanneer Tide annual holiday. Th' holiday itself be developed as a personal joke between two Oregonian shipmates an' recieved a fair amount o' noteriety before its eventual inclusion into th' psyche o' internet/skeptical/nerd culture. Nay doubt members o' th' Anonymous protest group Project Chanology (San Fransisco branch) be ou' in fore o' th' San Fransisco Scientology offices in full swashbuckler regalia. These internet memes be havin' a way o' linkin' together.

Inverted Nipples

Inverted Nipples
Flat or inverted nipples are fairly common, since anywhere from ten to twenty percent of all women have them. They do not pose any health risk, although they may be troublesome to new mothers attempting to get an infant to latch on to the breast and feed. The easiest way to check whether your nipples are innies or outies is to gently pinch behind one, around the edges of the areola (the dark circle). If the nipple protrudes, it is an outie. However, an inverted nipple will actually retract into the breast.
For these women, most solutions are rather simple. As an added bonus, the cheapest fixes are even free! Inverted nipples are actually connected to the breast tissue underneath them by bands of connective tissue. If these connections can be loosened or broken, the nipple will stand out. Some easy solutions to try include coaxing the nipple out with ice or stimulation. Gently rolling the nipple may do the trick. For pregnant women who need to correct nipples for breastfeeding, breast shells may be found in either maternity shops or in the hospital maternity ward. Worn inside the bra, breast shells consist of a small plastic disc with a hole in the center, which allows the nipple to protrude. The disc is then covered by a dome to allow air to circulate. The shell exerts some pressure, encouraging the nipple to stand outward.
Beyond breastfeeding, since there is no medical evidence that inverted nipples are harmful, women who dislike them face a largely cosmetic problem. If the solutions above don’t work, she does have the option of plastic surgery. Several different procedures can be used to correct inverted nipples, and most are geared towards keeping sensation and ability to breastfeed intact. With all the routes surgery can take, a woman should thoroughly explore her options and discuss her goals clearly and thoroughly with a surgeon before she undergoes any procedure.

Kelly Rutherford Divorce

Kelly Rutherford Divorce
Kelly Rutherford’s Divorce Difficulties She’s stepping up her game in a dispute over her son - as Kelly Rutherford faces off with estranged husband, Daniel Giersch, in court. Recent reports say the “Gossip Girl” actress is concerned about her 2-year-old son’s safety and hired a private eye last week to conduct three days of video surveillance at Giersch’s home. Rutherford’s main worry is the swimming pool that her ex leaves uncovered, arguing that son, Hermes, “Is very young, very active, not water safe and in a moment’s notice, could fall into the swimming pool.”
According to the investigator’s reports, the video footage showed the pool was indeed uncovered over three days, but nothing egregious was witnessed and therefore, Giersch has been ordered to keep the pool covered at all times unless he is nearby. Meanwhile, Kelly is pregnant with the ex-couple’s second child, a girl, and is due to give birth in three weeks.

Charles Krauthammer

Charles Krauthammer
This is a summary of a speech given by Dr. Charles Krauthammer to the Center for the American Experiment. He is brilliant intellectual, seasoned and articulate. He is forthright and careful in his analysis, and never resorts to emotions or personal insults. He is a fiscal conservative, and has a Pulitzer Prize for writing. He is a frequent contributor to Fox News and writes weekly for the Washington Post.
Mr. Obama is a very intellectual, charming individual. He is not to be underestimated. He is a cool customer who doesn’t show his emotions. It’s very hard to know what’s behind the mask. Taking down the Clinton dynasty from a political neophyte was an amazing accomplishment. The Clintons still do not understand what hit them. Obama was in the perfect place at the perfect time. Obama has political skills comparable to Reagan and Clinton. He has a way of making you think he’s on your side, agreeing with your position, while doing the opposite. Pay no attention to what he SAYS; rather, watch what he DOES!
Obama has a ruthless quest for power. He did not come to Washington to make something out of himself, but rather to change everything, including dismantling capitalism. He can’t be straight forward on his ambitions, as the public would not go along. He has a heavy hand, and wants to level the playing field with income redistribution and punishment to the achievers of society. He would like to model the USA to Great Britain or Canada.

Talk Like A Pirate Day 2009

Talk Like A Pirate Day 2009
Hey, land lubbers: Saturday marks Talk Like A Pirate Day 2009. The event started in 1995 as a holiday between friends. It got mainstream attention in 2002, when syndicated humor columnist Dave Barry included it in a column. The holiday always falls on Sept. 19. On the Talk Like A Pirate Day Web site, the holiday's founders explain its purpose: "Talking like a pirate is fun. It's really that simple. It adds a zest, a swagger, to your every day conversation. Do you need another reason?"Visit the Web site, available by clicking on the link at the side of this page, for basic pirate vocabulary. You'll also get sample pirate pickup strategies, like this always endearing line: "Wanna shiver me timbers?"
Arrr, matey. September 19 be Talk Like a Pirate Day, and this year, it may also be known as Play Awesome Piratey Games Day. What’s a holiday for pirates without cheap or free pirates games, after all? In celebration of everyone putting on weird pirate voices, LucasArts is dropping the price of the Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition on Steam and Direct2Drive to only $5, as well as cutting down the iPhone version’s price to just $4. Constitution Day

Constitution Day
Constitution Day, which is being observed in Scottsboro today with the signing of a Proclamation by Mayor Melton Potter, is an American federal observance of the of the signing and ratification of the United States Constitution on Sept. 17, 1787. Constitution Day commemorates the formation and signing of the Constitution. It also, as a continuation of Citizenship Day, recognizes all who, are born in the United States or become citizens through the naturalization process.
Before a 2004 amendment by Senator Robert Board the observance was know as “Citizenship Day.” The act requires that all educational institutions receiving federal funds of any kind provide education programming on the history of the Constitution annually on Sept. 17 or the school day closest to that date. Many activities are planned around the nation to provide students and individual citizens the chance to better understand what the document contains and how it pertains to individual freedoms.
The convention of states began formulating the document on May 14, 1787 in the State House (Independence Hall) in Philadelphia, Pa. Their purpose was to revise the Articles of Confederation under, which 13 states were loosely connected as a nation. Delegations from only two states were present. The members adjourned until a quorum of seven states was reached on May 25. By mid-June the delegates had decided that rather than amend the ambiguous Articles the country would be better served by the creation of a new document and framework for government.

Dannijo Jewelry

Dannijo Jewelry
Imagine having your jewelry creations "discovered" by Gossip Girl and celebrities including Natalie Portman, Blake Lively, Beyonce and Natalie Morales. You have now entered the world of DANNIJO, which was founded just months ago by Dannielle and Jodie Snyder. A couple of Jacksonville, FL girls, DANNIJO Jewelry was the result of an early interest in jewelry design. The girls used their dad's medical tools to make jewelry.
A fact I'm sure he looks at differently today. By high school the young women were turning their hobby into a business, opening a boutique in Jacksonville. College followed and Jodie was the first to make the move to New York, Dannielle followed later. DANNIJO jewelry is hand-made in with a huge range of collections. Using just about any precious metal and adding quartz, crystals, aqua aura and pearls. DANNIJO jewelry have captured the essence of indie hipster and uptown sophistication.
"Our personalities are different but complimentary, which makes for great synergy,” . I'm much more bohemian and rock-n-roll inspired. I've always loved Native American Indian and tribal aesthetics, whereas Jodie finds more inspiration in Old Hollywood glam and films and music of past generations, This contrast has given us a very open-minded point of view that is translated in our range of designs."
