Blue Sky Bicycles shop and the Saratoga Mountain Bike Association (SMBA) provides riders with a summer line-up of weekly and special events to get together for some rigorous but fun exercise. "It's a really healthy sport that gets people together," Jeff Cimino, store manager at Blue Sky Bicycles said. "The thrill of riding a bike, whether it's on the trails or on the road, gives you a terrific sense of speed, which is kind of intoxicating. People that are very health-oriented really want to take advantage of a sport that's very good for them and can get them out on the road for some scenic rides."

On Tuesday, August 11, bikers were able to choose from three different events, including Blue Sky Bicycles' advanced road ride, an SMBA group ride, or the weekly time trials session offered in South Glens Falls. The rides were followed up on Wednesday with a Blue Sky Bicycle women's only ride, and then a beginner's road ride on Thursday starting at the shop's parking lot.

"There are different levels and categories," Cimino said. "The advanced ride is a ride that's usually geared towards a more experienced cyclist or racer types. Wednesday night there's the woman's ride, which is a great ride for women to come and possibly feel a bit more comfortable together. And then Thursday's beginner rides teach people some basic skills and knowledge about road etiquette."
